Chappaqua's 'Swim Across America' a Success

More than $25,000 raised in event for cancer research and prevention.

The first-annual Chappaqua location event for Swim Across America was a success.

Carrie Dillon, among those involved in the event, reported that 62 swimmer participated, with about 30 kids involved in a clinic hosted by Olympic silver medalist Bobby Hackett.

Overall, more than $25,000 was raised, Dillon reported.

Swim Across America, which has been active in Long Island, launched the Chappaqua event this year. It is meant to help raise money for cancer research and prevention.
