Ex-Kisco Mayor Reilly Honored as 'Woman of Distinction'

Reilly was selected as local woman for a district-wide project from state Sen. Greg Ball.

Speaking to congratulate his precedessor on Mayor Michael Cindrich noted that Patricia Reilly's career and volunteerism is more extensive than the biography submitted for the honor.

“It doesn’t tell the whole story," he said at Monday's Mount Kisco Village Board of Trustees meeting.

“What Pat did in each and every one of these organizations was much more than could be expected of any person, and that’s what makes this community a great community," he said.

At the meeting, officials from state Sen. Greg Ball's office came to honor Reilly, who served as mayor from 1999-03 and as a village trustee for five years prior to that. She was as part of Ball's program that honors notable woman in the towns that comprise New York's 40th state senate district, which he represents.

Accepting the honor, Reilly described herself as a woman who is in a town of distinction.

“I don’t consider myself above anybody else," she said.

Reilly added that she is fortunate in town because while she has done a lot of things, they were not done alone.

“I just want everybody to know, I really can accept it on behalf of everybody in Mount Kisco," she said.

Current trustees praised Reilly, who is a life-long, 8-decade resident of the village who has volunteered for a myriad of local organizations, including the Boys & Girls Club and the local FISH program that serves senior citizens with transportation.

“It’s a terrific honor and so well deserved," said village Trustee Jean Farber.

Deputy Mayor George Griffin said, “she’s done so much for this village for so many years.”

Reilly, along with other woman of distinction in the district, will be honored as a March 30 ceremony in Putnam County.
