(Updated) Five Things You Need to Know Today: March 2, 2011

Preliminary Bedford school budget for 2011-12 to be unveiled.

1. The 2011-12 budget for the Bedford Central School District will be unveiled at tonight's school board meeting. Presenting the budget will be Superintendent Jere Hochman and Mark Betz, Assistant Superintendent for Business and Administrative Services. The presentation will be an overview of the initial budget, according to the agenda. The meeting will start at 8 p.m.

2. The Westchester County Association with several county legislators, including Majority Leader Peter Harckham (D-Katonah), whose district includes Mount Kisco. It will be held at Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, at 8:30 a.m. Registration is required. $60 for members and $75 for non-members.

3. The Ossining Public Library will hold its on the Jack Lemmon film series. , there will be a showing of Missing.

4. The Mount Kisco Public Library will hold its weekly senior benefits center at 11 a.m.

5. The Bedford Hills Free Library will be holding , from K-2. It starts at 4:30 p.m. Kids can dress up for the festivities, which will include jazz, cajun music and stories.
