Good Turnout for Santa in Mt. Kisco
Firefighters, major civic groups, team up with Santa to give out presents.
In Mount Kisco on Saturday, Santa Claus came not by reindeer but by firetruck, as he was brought to the American Legion hall to meet the kids.
The annual event, which includes giving out presents to children, drew a big crowd this year. According to the Don Ford, a legion member, there were about 375 who showed up.
"It was very good, the weather was with us," Ford said of the event.
The event has been going on for decades, according to Ford. Just about every major community group supported the event, including the Legion, the Lions Club, Rotary, Kiwanis and the Mt. Kisco Service Organization. Mount Kisco firefighters were on hand to help, along with the village's Recreation Commission.
"It's great," said firefighter Maury Rosen.
