Hall, Hayworth Release Second-Quarter Numbers

Hayworth makes $100,000 personal loan, leads Hall in cash on hand.

Congressman John Hall (D-Dover Plains) and his Republican challengers have filed fundraising numbers for the second quarter of 2010.

According to the Federal Election Commission, Hall raised a net amount of $283,446.16 for the quarter and had $564,133.03 in cash on hand as of June 30. To date, Hall has raised a net amount of $1,131,730.37. In his push for funds during the quarter, Hall even solicited the help of Vice President Joe Biden and actor Richard Gere at a June 1 fundraiser at Gere's Bedford Post Inn restaurant in Bedford Village.

Meanwhile, Nan Hayworth (R-Mount Kisco), Hall's main GOP rival, has received sizable backing from local Republicans and raised $219,610.11 net. To date, Hayworth has raised $737,217.20. She has also helped her campaign with self-funding, giving herself a $100,000 loan for the second quarter, and to date loaning $500,000 to herself. She had $774,985.70 cash on hand as of June 30, more than Hall.

Another Republican candidate, Brewster resident Neil Di Carlo, hasn't raised much. His filings show that he only garnered $924.33 net, with a net amount of $3214.33 to date. He reported $54995.74 cash on hand as of June 30, with most of that - $55709.22 - made from a personal loan. To date he has loaned himself $62908.88.

New York's 19th Congressional District includes northern Westchester County (including Mount Kisco, Bedford and Yorktown), all of Putnam County, most of Orange County, and parts of Dutchess and Rockland counties. The race is a competitive one, according to the Cook Political Report, which rates the district as "Lean D," giving Hall a slight advantage.
