Hall Leads Hayworth in 4th Quarter Donations, Trails in Overall Cash Held

Congressional candidates Submit Fourth Quarter, Year-To-Date Numbers.

Rep. John Hall  outraised challenger Nan Hayworth in the fourth quarter of 2009 for his re-election campaign but trails in total cash on hand, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission.

For the period from Oct. 1, 2009 to Dec. 31, 2009, Hall (D-Dover Plains) raised $228,082.62, while Hayworth (R-Mount Kisco) raised $177,413.00 for that time.

However, Hayworth has an advantage over the second-term Congressman, with $519,007.96 to his $451,584.91. Hayworth helped her campaign by donating $100,000 to herself in addition to money raised.

For the election cycle to date, Hall has raised $647,594.64, while Hayworth has raised $345,659.99. Neither number factors in loans, of which Hayworth has made to herself with a total amount of $250,000.00 in the cycle to date.

The race for the Republican nomination to challenge Hall in the 19th Congressional District is getting crowded, with others joining Hayworth in the field. Thomas DeChiaro, who owns The Winery at St. George in Mohegan Lake, has recently formed an exploratory committee. Other contenders are former Tuxedo Park Mayor David McFadden and Brewster resident and businessman Neil DiCarlo.
