Updates on Hunts Lane Housing Plan in Chappaqua
Notable items for Tuesday.
1. County Executive Rob Astorino's office has announced that Westchester County is now more than 70 percent in compliance with its 2009 housing settlement with the federal government and the Anti-Discrimination Center. In a quarterly report update, it was announced that the proposed 36 apartment rental units planned for Hunts Lane in downtown Chappaqua have received state tax creditsupport . They are among several projects now listed as in progress. The priorities for the next 90 days are to get approval for the project and to finish the underwriting process for county funds. Meanwhile, New Castle Supervisor Susan Carpenter has written a letter to the Metropolitian Transportation Authority (MTA) that an easement will be needed from its nearby property for the housing site. The site was previously used as a staging area during the construction of the now-complete Route 120 bridge. 2. According to Mount Kisco Mayor Michael Cindrich, the Village Board of Trustees plan to hold a special work session, tonight at 6 p.m. in Village Hall, to meet with retail landlords to discuss the issue of increasing vacancies.
