New Castle Police Blotter: Burglaries, Stolen Limo & Damaged Mailboxes
A look back at police reports from June 29 to July 7.
The following are some highlights from the New Castle police blotter from June 29 to July 7, notwithstanding the car accident that took place on July 1 on Route 117 and Petersville Road in Chappaqua.
Thefts and burglaries
July 3, 6:03 p.m.
A man living on Conte Lane, in the Ossining postal section on the West End, reported that there was a burglary at his home. He also said that he came back from vacation when he realized items were missing. The items include an Xbox 360, two watches, $570 and keys.
June 29, 9:02 a.m.
A 47-year-old Chappaqua woman living on Gray Rock Lane reported several items stolen, including an iPod Shuffle and binders.
June 30, 9:14 a.m.
A 2005 Cadillac DeVille was reported stolen at the Rite Aid Parking Lot on North Greeley Avenue in downtown Chappaqua. The vehicle is owned by a limousine company based in Bedford Hills.
July 1, 2:25 p.m.
A household on Baldwin Hills Road in Millwood reported a burglary.
DAMAGED OR STOLEN MAILBOXES
July 3, 7:06 p.m.
A woman on Allison Lane in Chappaqua, reported that her mailbox was stolen, and that the remaining post was knocked over and had "420" sprayed on it.
July 3, 6:30 a.m.
A woman said that she heard a loud noise around midnight from her Valley Lane home in Chappaqua. When she walked out in the morning she found that her mailbox had been damaged.
July 7, 12:38 a.m.
A Chappaqua resident reported hearing a loud bang at the bottom of her driveway on Barnes Lane. While there, she saw vehicle drive way, towards Campfire Road. She reported her mailbox as missing to the police, who stated in his report that she "observed the mailbox was knocked over."
Harassment Report
July 2, 1:48 p.m.
A woman living on Harriman Road, in the Mount Kisco postal section, reported that her husband's ex-wife has been leaving a series of unwanted phone calls for him. Examples she cited include two calls made to her husband's boss on June 24 and July 2.
Vehicle Assistance
July, 4, 3:45 a.m.
An officer was on his way to answer a complaint from a woman living on Nitra Road, in the Mount Kisco postal area, about a man who entered into her house. While heading over, he was asked by police headquarters to respond to a report of a car going off the road, in the area of Yeshiva Road. An 18-year-old Peekskill man was found, with blood on his shirt, walking on Lake Street. The officer had the man sit in his car, then they drove to find the man's car, which was discovered on Croton Lake Road. A 19-year-old Ossining man was found there injured.
Bad Check
July 7, 9:45 a.m.
Village Market, located on King Street in downtown Chappaqua, reported receiving a bad check.
