Ossining Man Charged With Raping Woman in New Castle

The report of alleged rape was made on Sunday.

An Ossining man is accused of raping a woman at a New Castle home, police said.

Police arrested Nestor Alejandro Guaman Guartambel, 25, on Thursday. He was charged with first-degree rape, a class B felony.

The woman, 26, reported being a victim of rape to police on Jan. 1. She told police that she knew him and that the rape took place at the house. After an investigation, police arrested the man at his residence in Ossining.

After being arraigned by Town Justice David Zuckerman, he was taken to the Westchester County jail in Valhalla and held without bail.

Editor's Note: The original copy of this story said that the woman was raped at her house, but the release does not say that. We have corrected the story.
