Police: Robber Hits Mount Kisco Branch of Mahopac National Bank

The robbery is reported to have occurred shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday. The suspect is alleged to have given a note to a teller stating that he had a weapon.

 

Police are on the look out for a bank robber purported to have stolen an unspecified amount of money from the Mount Kisco branch of Mahopac National Bank on Lexington Avenue.

The robber is alleged to have passed a note to a teller indicating that he had a firearm, according to Village Manager James Palmer. Witnesses, Palmer added, did not observe the man having weapons.

The robbery was reported to have occured at 12:54 p.m. on Tuesday. The alleged robber is a white male in his 40s, police said. He was unshaven, about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7 and wore sun glasses. He also had on a cap, along with a light-blue windbreaker, police said.

In addition to Mount Kisco police being on scene, mutual aid was provided by New Castle police, Bedford police and Westchester County police. A K-9 unit was also brought in.

The banks will have to do better than that. A desperate robber vs helpless customers equals blood on the floor. Properly arming banks will also lead to greater employment.
