State Trooper Strikes Mount Kisco Pedestrian with Car
State police confirm media report that a state police sergeant was involved in a vehicle incident, but cause is under investigation.
A New York state police sergeant struck a female pedestrian in Mount Kisco with his car, state police confirmed.
The incident was first reported earlier Wednesday afternoon by The Journal News. In its story, the paper interviewed Maj. Michael Kopy of Troop K. He told the news outlet that the woman hit on Wednesday morning was 22-year-old Mount Kisco resident Dolce Perez and that the trooper involved was Sgt. Joseph Crispino, at West Main Street and near H&R Block.
Kopy declined to comment when approached by Patch, relaying his response through fellow personnel. Instead, his office referred the matter to the Albany public information office. Lt. Glenn Miner, at the office, confirmed the incident but did not have available names of the people involved.
Miner also confirmed the Journal News report that Crispino was on duty but did not have information available as to what he was doing. The paper reports that the sergeant, his its Kopy interview, was on "executive service detail," a protection assignmentfor elected officials. The closest notable elected official who gets state police protection is Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who lives in New Castle and just up a hill that is west of where the collision reportedly occured. Kopy did not specify to the paper whom Crispino was on duty for, although the paper reports that Crispino was not part of Cuomo's security detail.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, Miner confirmed.

I saw that...was she injured? Cuomo's executive service detail is headquartered in the old community center on maple avenue.

She was. The Journal News reported that Kopy said she was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

Valhalla has a trauma center...if she wasn't badly hurt she would have gone to Northern Westchester. Stay on this one Tom!

The article from TJN, through its state police interview, notes that she was examined for head injury.

Is it ok to run people over if they're here illegally?

Mike, your comment has been deleted. We don't let people post claims that someone is breaking the law without citing an example of it as an accusation.
