White Plains Man, Somers Woman Victims of Fatal Car Crashes in North Castle
North Castle Police are investigating the accidents; Katonah man also involved.
Two fatal car crashes occurred within an hour of one another in North Castle on Saturday morning.
At approximately 9:18 a.m. on Jan. 28, a 24-year-old Somers woman fatally crashed a 2011 Mercedes Benz near 25 Hickory Pass in the Banksville part of North Castle, according to a police report. The Armonk and Banksville Fire Departments, and Westchester EMS were also on scene.
The North Castle Police Department responded to a second incident at approximately 10:22 a.m. at the intersection of NY Route 120 and Airport Road in the Armonk section of town involving two vehicles. According to police, a 2002 Ford pickup truck registered to a Katonah business and driven by a Katonah man, 35, and a 2003 Mercury registered to a White Plains business operated by a White Plains man, 61, were involved. The White Plains man did not survive. The Armonk Fire Department, Westchester EMS and Westchester County Police Department were also at the scene. The Harrison Police Department assisted with road closures.
Both accidents are under investigation by the Accident Investigation Unit of the North Castle Police Department. No further information is available at this time, but police expect more details during the week of Jan. 30.
