Unusual Suspects: State Troopers Hit Pedestrians; Gadhafi Scam; Drunk Woman Unable to Report Alleged Crime
Recent weird and unusual crime in the Hudson Valley.
State Troopers Hit Pedestrians
State trooper Gregory Panzarella, an investigator, was on duty when he struck Jeronimo Ardon Perez, a 50-year-old Mount Kisco man, while he was crossing between Brookside Avenue and the American Legion hall. The trooper was on protective duty, but not assigned to the detail of Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who lives in New Castle just west of the town line with Mount Kisco. This is the second incident where a state trooper struck a pedestrian in less than one week. State Police Sgt. Joseph Crispino struck 22-year-old Mount Kisco resident Dolce Perez on West Main Street while on duty.
The Clarkstown Police Department warns residents of a new Internet fishing scam by a person posing as an ex-member of the inner circle of Libya’s former dictator Moammar Gadhafi. The person claims to be in self-exile in Luxemburg and have access to a vast Gadhafi fortune that moved out of Libya before Gadhafi was deposed. Police warn not to give out any personal information to someone you don’t know and to disregard any faxes or e-mails asking for personal information for a get rich quick scheme.

A woman stumbled into Mamaroneck police headquarters attempting to make a report of a minor harassment but was unable to do so because she was intoxicated. Police advised her to go home and return when she was more lucid.
Man Allegedly Drags Deli Owner With His Car
A 50 cent credit card service charge at La Familia deli in Irvington sparked outrage in a customer who bought a coffee. Irvington police say witnesses saw the deli owner's wife approach the man's car after he left the deli without signing his receipt. The man then lowered his window and the woman reached into the car with the receipt, at which point the man allegedly drove off dragging her about 30 feet. When the man stopped the car, the deli owner supposedly refused to remove her arm and he dragged her another 60 feet before she either let go or was thrown from the vehicle.

LMF, what's your comment intended to mean? Can you elaborate?

I think that since both victims were named Perez LMF's commented could be completed with "you'd better be careful crossing the street." Not sure about the unmarked car comment though.

I think that the posting here of a drunk woman stumbling into the police department complaining of being harassed shouldn't have been posted here for entertainment and she shouldn't have just been told to go home. Remember Lauren Spierer, and how happy would her parents have been if she stumbled into the local police department and gotten help. I hope this woman made it home and whoever may have been harassing her didn't find her along the way.

Good point. And I hope she didn't have to drive to get home.
