Update on Woodland Street Parking; 1st Meeting of Fiscal Group
Notable items for Monday.
1. At tonight's Village Board of Trustees meeting, Mount Kisco Village Manager James Palmer will provide the board an update on the status of parking along Woodland Street. A proposed ban on overnight, on-street parking has been a big controversy among residents, who came out to a Nov. 7 meeting to express their opposition. Palmer has since kept enforcement of the ban from going into effect prior to making a decision on how to proceed. The meeting starts tonight at 7:30 p.m., at Village Hall. Click here for the agenda.
2. The newly formed fiscal issues group BEST 4 NY will hold a meeting for the public tonight at New Castle Town Hall at 7 p.m. Its mission is to support repeal of state mandates that govern local school districts, including the pension contribution system and changing tenure. The group includes members from the local organization New Castle Citizens for Responsible Education (NCCRE) as well as like-minded individuals from several school districts across Westchester County.
3. Acadia on Main will be doing a series of specials in December to help organizations in or near Mount Kisco, including the parent association for Mount Kisco Elementary School, Fox Lane Sports Boosters and the Community Center for Northern Westchester.
