Temple Beth El of Northern Westchester held a ground breaking ceremony for an addition at its synagogue in Chappaqua. The event was attended by a couple hundred members of its congregation, as well as some local government officials.

There was a concert held inside the synagogue, followed by a ceremonial shoveling of the soil. The latter marked the start of the upcoming construction taking place on the grounds of the synagogue. When completed, the new buildings will include a social hall, new classrooms and an outdoor play area.
