Gloria Steinem, influential activist, writer and journalist for the women's rights movement, will appear at Temple Beth El on February 28 at 8 pm live via satellite broadcast from New York City's 92nd Street Y. This will be the kick-off event for Temple Beth El's Spring 2012 broadcast programs.
Ms. Steinem will talk about her travels in this and other countries as an organizer, lecturer and frequent media spokeswoman on issues of equality and her work organizing across boundaries for peace and justice.
In 1972 she co-founded Ms. Magazine and the following year she became the founding president of the Ms. Foundation for Women.

More About Temple Beth El of Northern Westchester
Temple Beth El is a Reform Jewish synagogue that places an emphasis on social justice and tolerance. Shabbat worship is held on Friday and Saturday. Torah study is held prior to Saturday worship. It also holds family Shabbat on the first Friday of the month. It includes singing, dancing and a dinner at 6:15pm, before family service.
The synagogue also has religious educational services for children and teens, as well as youth groups for people between fifth grade and 12th grade. It also has brotherhood and sisterhood clubs. In addition, it hosts a nursery school, the Beginning Years Early Childhood Center.
