Motown Night at Carriage House Motor Cars to Benefit Adopt-A-Dog
Dancing in the Street-themed fundraiser on June 1st dovetails with Greenwich Concours D'Elegance
Carriage House Motor Cars is set to partner with Adopt-A-Dog for a Motown-themed fundraiser on Saturday, June 1st 6:00-10:00pm. Timed to tie-in with the Greenwich Concours D'Elegance the first weekend of June, the showroom at 25 Railroad Ave is as perfect a setting for rare and collectible cars as it is fitting for a dance floor.
With its backdrop of vintage cars and a “Dancing in the Street” theme, Carriage House Motor Cars will harken back to the glory days of Motown, its stream of memorable hits and, oh, those muscle cars and hot-rods.
And while the record label was a combination of motor and town, and the Motown sound blended soul and pop, the fundraiser will be a mix of rare automobiles, vintage hits and a good cause – perfect ingredients for a party.
If there is anything Americans are as passionate about as automobiles and music, it is their pets. “In the theme of celebrating for a great cause, we picked Adopt-A-Dog for all they do for homeless animals,” said Vasilka Bukov, Carriage House Motor Cars “Motown Night” chair. “They operate as a sanctuary. Dogs live out their days receiving great care until they get a forever home.”
According to Executive Director Allyson Halm, “Adopt-A-Dog relies 100% on private donations. With the tough economy and number of unwanted pets growing, we were thrilled when Carriage House offered to organize this fundraiser.” The Greenwich Concours is a destination event that draws thousands to town. Car buffs and rare car collectors alike travel from New England and beyond. With Saturday’s Concours exclusively for American make cars, (Sunday’s Concours International is for imported cars), a large turnout is anticipated for Saturday’s Motown Night at Carriage House.
Located just a block from the Concours staging grounds at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park, Carriage House Motor Cars showroom at 25 Railroad Ave is just a short walk from the show. Tel. (917) 365-3615.
Tickets for Motown Night are $100 in advance, $150 the day of the event. For ticket information and sponsor opportunities, click here or go to www.adoptadog.org
