Mount Kisco Child Care Center Partners with Junior League of Northern Westchester to Give Back

  • Editor's Note: Below is an announcement submitted on behalf of Mount Kisco Child Care Center:

Mount Kisco, NY – (January 3, 2011) – Mount Kisco Child Care Center (MKCCC) recently partnered with Junior League of Northern Westchester (JLNW) to give to families in need during the 31st Annual Holiday Sharing Drive.

The Holiday Sharing Drive is JLNW’s signature philanthropic effort that delivers food, clothing and gifts to over 300 families in need, including several from MKCCC during the holiday season.

Moving trucks, donated by Whalen’s Moving & Storage, pick up the donated goods from the storage facility at the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester in Mount Kisco. The goods are transported to MKCCC where members of the Yorktown High School Varsity Hockey Team unload the boxes to be stored and distributed. Transportation for the Hockey Team is provided by Chappaqua Transportation.

MKCCC is one of the eighteen community service organizations that partner with JLNW to raise public awareness of local poverty and hunger and to improve the lives of those most in need in the community. Recipient families are identified and matched anonymously with donors who provide holiday gifts, home supplies and food.

“It is extremely important to be aware of those in need in our area,” explains Ruth Goodman, MKCCC Social Worker. “We are thrilled to be able to provide these families with the opportunity to celebrate the Holidays with both gifts and necessary household items.”
