“Tastes of Northern Westchester” Honors Community Impact
Mount Kisco, NY – (October 16, 2013) – Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester (BGCNW) officially kicked off its year-long 75th anniversary celebration at the recent “Tastes of Northern Westchester” event held at Mount Kisco Country Club. BGCNW’s Young Professionals Advisory Council partnered with the Mt. Kisco Rotary Club to host the event, which raised $42,000. A majority of the proceeds will benefit BGCNW programs and services.
“We are excited to begin our celebratory year,” said BGCNW Executive Director Brian Skanes. “Since our inception, we have continued evolving and growing in response to the changing needs of the youth in our community. Mt Kisco Rotary Club’s annual event felt like the most appropriate opportunity to launch our year-long celebration.”
Guests of “Tastes of Northern Westchester” enjoyed samplings from the finest area restaurants along with a silent auction and live music. Following the program, BGCNW members surprised guests with dance and hip-hop performances that got the already energetic crowd on their feet.
“The Boys & Girls Club is an institution in Northern Westchester,” said Rotary President Judy Simon. “So many of our friends and neighbors have benefitted from their programs over the years. We congratulate them on their remarkable history and look forward to all they will offer our community in the future.”
Event sponsors included A&J Home Care, Inc.; Andrew Handler; First Niagara Foundation; M&T Bank; Microsoft Store at The Westchester Mall; Schiavetti, Corgan, DiEdwards, Weinberg & Nicholson, LLP; TD Bank; and VKS Architects & Katonah Building Corp.
