Have you "uncorked" your creativity lately? In a growing trend in Westchester and beyond, non-artists are loosening up with some vino and donning a paintbrush at Wine & Painting Nights.
The Irrelevant Elephant Fine Art Studio has had great success offering Wine & Painting on select Thursday evenings, from 8:30 to 10 p.m.
"It's a great night for work friends to hang out, for book clubs to do something different, or for parents to get out of the house," says Laura Craig, owner/director at Irrelevant Elephant.
She supplies easels, acrylic paints and other art supplies, wine glasses and openers, and ambience. It's BYOB (must be 21 years of age or older) and she doesn't mind if you bring appetizers, fruit, cheese, crackers, etc. Laura sets up a still life, but let's patrons paint whatever their passions dictate. She has a variety of pictures artists can reference, and a few step-by-step compositions she can walk them through. She circulates the entire time, checking on everyone and offering help.
At Irrelevant Elephant (293 Lexington Avenue in Mount Kisco; www.ieartstudio.com), the cost for a Wine & Painting evening is only $20 per person. To book a reservation (required), please call 914-666-2767 or email email@example.com.
