Ending the Dog Days of Summer With a Splash

Mount Kisco opens its public pool to local canines to go for a swim.

People brought their dogs to Leonard Park this past Sunday for the annual Dog Swim at the Mount Kisco Memorial Pool. The event, now in its fourth year, is organized by the Mount Kisco Recreation Department and marks the end of the village's swim season and the last weekend of summer.

The swim could be compared to any other weekend at the complex, as the kiddie pool area was filled with puppies just learning how to swim, while the olympic size pool saw canines jumping in and even doing laps across. Residents agreed that event benefited the community by providing a safe space for dogs to socialize and even if they've never swam before, they could literally get their feet wet.

Patch was on hand to see why residents and their canine companions love the annual swim.
