Grab and Go Family Planner: Easter Egg Hunts, Spaghetti Dinner and Earth Day

Grab your baskets and search for candy, help raise money for nursing scholarships and celebrate Earth Day.

I love this time of year. The spring holidays indicate that even if the temperatures haven't quite made the change, we're all ready to go. This weekend is full of great community-wide events that make us proud to live here.  Enjoy the weekend! 


 
Where/When: Flashlight Egg Hunt meets at Memorial Pool, South Bedford Road/Route 172/Leonard Park, Mount Kisco, in the Parking Lot on Friday, April 15 at  7:30 p.m. (don't be late!). Rain date is Saturday, April 16 at 11 a.m. The Junior Egg Hunt meets at Memorial Pool Parking lot on Saturday, April 16 at 11 a.m. Rain date is Sunday, April 17 at 2 p.m.
 
Why go: The Flashlight Egg Hunt is for kids in grades 3-5. Please remember to bring your own flashlight.  The Junior Egg Hunt is for children in grades 2 and under. Please bring your own bucket, basket or bags. Come collect eggs and try to find the "lucky eggs, " to get a special prize. It is suggested that everyone wear boots for this event.

Annual Springtacular Kids Event
 
Where/When: 162 East Main Street,  Mount Kisco, on Saturday, April 16 from 2 p.m.- 3 p.m.
 
Why go: Enjoy some spring holiday stories, activities and arts and crafts. The program is best for ages 5-8, but younger ones are welcome. This is not a drop-off event, so please plan to stay and participate with the kids. Snacks from cafe will be served.
 
Pricing: Free

Easter Candy Hunt
 
Where/When: Westmoreland Sanctuary, 260 Chesnut Ridge Road, Mount Kisco, Saturday, April 16 at 1 p.m. Rain date is Sunday, April 17. Event expected to last approximately 2 hours.
 
Why go: What is better than a candy hunt and games, including all those childhood races you remember on an afternoon in April? Please bring a basket, bag or bucket to use when you are collecting candy! There will be separate age groups for activities. This event is sponsored by Bedford Village Chowder and Marching.
 
Pricing: Free
 
 
Where/When: , 1 Legion Way, Mount Kisco, on Saturday, April 16 from 6 p.m.- 9:30 p.m. Dinner will start at 6 p.m. and be served through 7:30 p.m.
 
Why go:  This annual event is great fun for the whole family. Bring a bib or wipes if you have little ones, because this is sure to get messy. All funds raised go to supporting Nursing Scholarships. It is sponsored by The Lions Clubs of Armonk, Bedford Hills, Bedford Village, Mount Kisco and Pound Ridge.
 
Pricing: $20 per adult, $7 per child (ages 12 and under). $50 for the entire family to eat!

 
Where/When: Kensico Dam Plaza , on the north end of the Bronx River Parkway,Valhalla on Sunday, April 17 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
 
Why go:
Lots to do including hearing great children's band Annie and The Natural Wonder Band and enjoy the band Solar Punch.  First 200 families will go home with something. Eat local food, learn gardening tips and hear new ways to go green.
