Water Main Break Should Be Fixed Tonight

Crews are working on the broken water main that broke early this morning on Route 133 near Rutland Avenue. Officials say it should be completed by this evening.

Residents in the affected neighborhood are advised to boil water used for drinking or food. Drivers are urged to find other routes.

The village posted this statement on its website:

The Mt. Kisco Water Department has excavated the area around the water main break and will be replacing the damaged section of pipe shortly.  It is anticipated that the repair will be completed this evening and water pressure restored shortly thereafter.  As a precautionary measure, the Westchester County Health Department has issued a Boil Water Advisory
to the impacted area only urging residents to boil their water before drinking it or using it to prepare food when service is restored.  The Advisory does not extend to bathing, washing clothes or using a dishwasher.  Residents outside the impacted area may see some water discoloration but do not need to follow the advisory.  For additional updates on the break later this evening please call the Village's water quality line at 864-0020 for an updated recording on restoration status or check the Village's website atwww.mountkisco.org.
