Merchants Excited for Small Business Saturday

The shopping day offers a chance for small businesses to showcase themselves.

Today is Small Business Saturday, a chance for merchants to promote themselves to shoppers. 

Locally, business owners are excited for the day, noting that last year's went well. 

"I love Small Business Saturday," said Alissa Harvey, owner of The King's Scribe. "It's a big day. We wait for it all year."

King's Scribe, along with its 1 King St. neighbors in Chappaqua, Aurora and Breeze, will be serving treats to people coming by.

"I'm very excited for it," Susan Maher, owner of Breeze, said about Saturday.

Aurora owner Dawn Greenberg noted that last year, Small Business Saturday was "my biggest day of the year." Aside from joining with her neighbors, Greenberg will also have a Girl Scout troop selling cards to benefit a local food pantry.

"We're so excited," said Auntie Penny co-owner Eve Spence. Her business will be offering discounts and holiday merchandise.
