Retail Roundup: The Rose Room to Replace F.A.B.

Shortly after Mount Kisco restaurant closes, a new one is taking its place. Plus: YogoBerry exits and furniture store to depart.

F.A.B. Site Gets Filled with Rose Room

The former site of French American Bistro (F.A.B.) in Mount Kisco (222 E. Main St.) won't be vacant for long. A new restaurant is under construction and is called The Rose Room, co-owner Michael Lubic told Patch.

Lubic, a Somers resident, owns Traditions 118 in Somers with his mother, Lisa. She is a Mahopac resident, he said.

The Rose Room, Lubic said, will have "an eclectic American gourmet" with "a touch of Italian."

The interior space, which will have a bar and lounge space, is under construction. The place is expected to open during the first week of February, Lubic said.

YogoBerry Closes

YogoBerry, a Mount Kisco frozen yogurt place located at 10 S. Moger Ave., recently closed. This leaves Frannie's Goodie Shop as the sole frozen yogurt specialty place in the downtown.

Village Shop Nears Exit

The Village Shop, a Mount Kisco retail establishment that's on Route 117 and across from Village Hall and the library, is expected to close this week. Owner Tim Mallon, who stormed out of a Planning Board meeting last spring amid disagreement over his landscaping proposal for the front, cited bad relations with the village government as one of multiple factors.
