Taverna Pandesia Holds Mt. Kisco Grand Opening

Taverna Pandesia, a new Greek restaurant in Mount Kisco, held its grand opening on Thursday with a ribbon cutting and visits from local politicians and businesspeople.

The restaurant, located at 36 E. Main St., is the product of a trio of owners and it is their foray into Westchester County.

“It's really a great town," said Christopher Fillios, a co-owner of the place, which includes dining space and a bar.

Fillos, a Queens resident, said that his partners also own a Long Island diner.

The storefront is also the former home of Wine Junction and the building's entrance has been pushed further back, freeing up newly claimed outdoor space for seating.

Mount Kisco Mayor Michael Cindrich felt that while the opening was important to the village, “it's more important to you and your lovely family because your investment is significant, the hours you're going to put in to make the business successful are significant, and you've done a beautiful job and on behalf of the village I just wish you all the success in the world.”

County Legislator Peter Harckham, whose district includes Mount Kisco, noted that Taverna Pandesia will be beneficial because of sales tax revenue and because of people who can spend their money locally.

“It is exactly what the people of Mount Kisco and the neighboring towns are looking for to add to their culinary experience," said state Assemblyman David Buchwald, who has his district office in downtown Mount Kisco and said he has already eaten at the restaruant.

Kevin Kane, who is president of the Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce, gave a welcome and wish the new place good luck.
