Why Is It So DARN Hard To Just...Start!!!

I am an observer of life and of those around me. I also keenly observe the excuses that stop my clients (and sometimes me!) from going for and getting what they want.

I am an observer of life and of those around me. I also keenly observe the excuses that stop my clients (and sometimes me!) from going for and getting what they want. I have realized that solving this problem can be very simple. It doesn’t matter what the issue we want to address is. It could be that we want to eat better, exercise more, clean up our house, have more sex, etc. etc. etc. The biggest block is the initial one – GETTING STARTED!!! We think about it, we talk about it, we think about the “what ifs,” we beat ourselves up for not doing it, and yet that very idea of just beginning becomes a HUGE obstacle.

So, I want to challenge you to begin… Pick one thing you are committing to. It could be as simple as drinking more water. Pick a day when you are going to start, put it in your calendar and make it non-negotiable!!!

I have learned that the funny thing is as soon as you actually start, it is never that difficult (or even as close to difficult as you have built it up to be). Even better, we turn a blockage around 180 degrees and get to be proud of ourselves instead. Trust me, it feels great to not feel guilty about something you didn’t do…
