Greeley Wins Boys Swimming Sectional; 2nd Turf Check Event

Notable items for Friday.

Update: The state cemetery press conference has been postponed.

1. Horace Greeley High School's boys swim team has won the Section I championship, which was held this week. The Quakers got a combined team score of 275 points. In second place was the Clarkstown team with 260 points. Fox Lane High School, meanwhile, finished 8th with 132 points. Click here for the full results.

2. It has been announced that his morning at 9 a.m., The Chappaqua Turf Committee (TCTC) will present a donation check to the district at the Education Center. According to Jim Nottingham, Greeley Sports Boosters president, the check will cover an engineering study for replacing a series of athletic facilities items in addition to the original turf field goal. At its Jan. 31 meeting, the school board approved entering an into agreement to allow for expansion to proceed.

3. At 10 a.m. this morning, state Sen. Greg Ball will hold a press conference to support creating a state cemetery for military veterans. It will be held at the Mount Kisco American Legion hall at the intersection of Route 117 and Brookside Avenue.

4. A choice for a new Greeley principal has been picked, while the search for a Roaring Brook principal heads back to the drawing board.
