Kerry Kennedy Due Back in North Castle Court

Second court date this evening in Armonk.

Kerry Kennedy is due for her second North Castle justice court appearance this evening, in response to her impaired driving charge stemming from a July car accident on I-684.

Court starts at 6 p.m. at the court building (which is also town hall) in downtown Armonk. It comes just days after Rocco Scuiletti, the truck driver involved in the collision with Kennedy's car, decided to fight a charge of leaving the accident scene.

Kennedy pleaded not guilty at her last court date, which was July 17. The collision took place on the morning of July 13, near Armonk. According to a police report, she told police that she mistakenly taken Ambien, which she was a prescription for, instead of thyroid medication that she is also permitted to have. She confirmed this at a press conference later on.

At her press conference, held after her first court date, Kennedy said may have been a cause for the accident, citing opinions from doctors who she consulted for treatment. On July 25, however, drug tests results released stated that she tested positive for a form of Ambien. In response, Kennedy said that "it now appears that my first instinct was correct."
