UPDATE, 2:45 p.m. Saturday:
As of 2:37 p.m. Saturday, the numbers are going down. Con Edison has the outages at 4,760 in New Castle and 581 in Mount Kisco. Full restoration estimate is unchanged.
Most New Castle residents are still without power five days after Hurricane Sandy battered the town.
As of 12:03 p.m. Saturday, the number stands at 5,150 Con Edison customers, out of 6,574 total, according to the power company's outage map.
Recovery in Mount Kisco has been relatively faster. While more than 2,000 customers were without power earlier this week, the number has dropped. As of 12:03 p.m. Saturday, Con Edison lists 670 customers in the village without power, out of 5,075 total.
For residents of both towns, however, there may be a long wait before power is restored to everybody. Con Edison currently projects that to happen on Nov. 11 at 11:59 p.m. The outage map lists it under a 24-hour clock system, as 23:59 p.m.
