St. Patrick's Day Parade Fun in Mount Kisco

The village's 2013 parade enjoyed strong turnout, visits from several groups from around the area.

White snow may have defined Mount Kisco's landscape after Friday's storm, but green was ubiquitous on Saturday, as onlookers crowded downtown Mount Kisco for the annual St. Patrick's Day parade.

The parade included an array of groups from both the village and nearby, such as the local Ancient Order of Hibernians, Rotary, local elementary schools, elected officials, bagpipe groups, and first responders from Mount Kisco and neighboring towns.

Several folks were honored at the parade, including Hawthorne resident Oliver Doyle as its grand marshall, Grace Griffin (the wife of Deputy Mayor George Griffin), as Hibernian of the Year, and Steve Young - he has done printing for the local AOH through Minuteman Press - as an honorary Hibernian. Army Specialist (and Mount Kisco volunteer firefighter), Brett Schlosser, who is home form service in Afghanistan, was honored at the parade.
