Artist and Neuroscience Scholar Discuss “The Artist and the Brain” at the Katonah Museum of Art

Lecture on December 11 at 7:30 pm

One of the exhibiting artists in the Katonah Museum of Art’s exhibition, Eye to I, Michael Ferris, Jr., will discuss the dialog that develops between himself and his sculpture’s form, and the synthesis between the visual aspects of his sculptures and his own feelings as he creates them.  Dr. Gabrielle Starr, humanities neuroscience scholar and author of the 2013 book Feeling Beauty, The Neuroscience of Aesthetic Experience, will connect her research on the neural underpinnings of the aesthetic experience to the creative impulse and the experience of looking at art.
