AUDITIONS TO BE HELD FOR SECOND ANNUAL SHAKESPEARE IN THE SANCTUARY: THE TEMPEST at Westmoreland Sanctuary
Westmoreland Sanctuary will present THE TEMPEST, directed by Emma Zakes Green, with sets and costumes by Carolyn Nielsen, at our Nature Center and Wildlife Preserve in Mount Kisco, NY on July 25-27, 2013. This 60 minute, family-friendly adaptation will incorporate the beautiful natural setting of the preserve as actors and audience move through the woods and meadows in this unique, engaging production. There will be four performances:
- Fri. July 25 at 6:30 pm
- Sat. July 26 at 2:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

- Sun. July 27 at 1:00 p.m.
Grounds will open 1 1/2 hours before for picnicking and pre-show merriment. Following Westmoreland tradition, the evening’s entertainment will end with a marshmallow roast round the campfire. Last year’s performances were sold out and we expect even greater audience demand this summer. Come join the fun!

Auditions will be held on Monday, June 23rd starting at 5:00 p.m. with possible callbacks later in the week. We will be casting approximately 30 roles for adults, teens and children age 7 and up. No prior experience necessary—just a love of theatre, nature and storytelling. Also looking for musicians, stage manager, artists and other crew. Rehearsals will begin June 30th in the evenings, 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 pm (children will rehearse 5:00 pm. - 7/8:00 p.m.), several nights per week. During rehearsals, children will also participate in related nature and theatre programs activities with Westmoreland’s educational staff and our theatre team.
