This BBC film looks at Life magazine and the photographers that
made it special. Started in 1936 By Henry Luce the staff of Life believed that
pictures could change the world. The weekly Life was read by half of the
households in America, something that is unheard of today.
Master Class Workshops: 2pm, 4 Saturdays Jan. 12, 26: Feb 9, 23: John Shearer is a world
renowned photojournalist who was on staff at Life and Look Magazines. He work
has been included in shows at MOMA, the Whitney & Met Museums and taught at
Columbia University. The workshops are open to adults and teens with a maximum of 20

Students must have their own camera and be able to print their
own prints between wkshops.
