"yoga superstar" is impossible - because yoga is a spiritual exercise (no pun intended) - so, anyone purporting to be a "yoga superstar" is either misinformed, a jackass, or a misinformed jackass - yelling "i'm so spiritual" is proof that you are not. my money's on jackass.

Hi, Craig. I wrote this story. I called Mr. Sanford a superstar. He did not designate himself as such. I take yoga myself, as a form of physical exercise. If you insist on calling someone a jackass, you should direct that insult at me.

P.S. The way Mr. Sanford has overcome his accident and disability is inspiring to me and to many. See his website http://www.matthewsanford.com/ The solstice mega-event is great fun, too! This year it's June 18 in White Plains.

It's about $20 to go out to White Plains, park somehow, navigate the big crowd and have some yoga practice at the Mega Yoga event. Or for the same $20 I can go to a private studio closer to my house and have a small yoga class of a style I choose. Is there a benefit to the big class? Is the energy stronger or something?

Dear David, While getting there takes some doing, you may find it well worth the effort. The energy IS strong and the feeling of community is palpable. Also, if you are one of the first 500 to register, you get a complimentary mat plus a gift bag with coupons worth far more than the admission. And if that wasn't enough, the event supports The Mental Health Association, a community non-profit! Hope to see you there.
