Child Care Council of Westchester Awards Breakfast

The Child Care Council of Westchester will hold its annual awards event on Friday, June 8th at 8:30am at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in White Plains to recognize exceptional individuals who help us “Build a Better Future for Westchester” through their outstanding contributions to and support of early care and education in Westchester County.  Champions of Child Care Awards will be presented to PATRICIA LANZA of the Lanza Family Foundation; NY State Assemblywoman Amy Paulin; and SHOPRITE SUPERMARKETS, INC., to be accepted by Patricia Cruz, Manager, Community Relations.  Joey Award honorees this year include: SUE BAZON, Associate Teacher, Weekday Nursery School; LINDA BRESLER, Licensing Supervisor, Spring Valley Regional Office, NYS Office of Children and Family Services; SYNARA OKYNE-ARYEE, Program Coordinator, First Steps Program in the Ossining School District; SHARON WOODS; Director, Marion and George Ames Early Childhood Learning Center, Leake and Watts Services, Inc.; and MARIA ZAVAGLIA, Center Director, The Mother Connection of Cortlandt, Inc.

The Council’s JOEY AWARDS, named after Joseph M. Ungaro, former Vice President of The Gannett Metro News Division and first President of the Board of Directors of the Child Care Council of Westchester, are given to exceptional child care professionals who have made outstanding contributions to the Westchester early care and education community and whose efforts have significantly impacted the lives of children and youth.  The CHAMPIONS OF CHILD CARE AWARDS, which debuted in 2003, acknowledge Westchester’s broad and expanding community support for early care and education.
