WeeZee – The Science of Play Partners with Local Libraries for a "Read for Rewards" Program

Children Who Sign-up for their Library’s Summer Reading Program Can Win WeeZee Prizes Including a Free Week of Camp

WeeZee – The Science of Play, an 18,000 square foot sensory play, fitness and learning facility for children ages 1-12 in Chappaqua, NY, has partnered with local libraries throughout Westchester County to offer fun prizes to children who sign-up for their library’s summer reading program.

“Studies show that children can forget up to two months of curriculum over the summer without reading,” said WeeZee founder Louise Weadock. “Our goal is to motivate more children and parents to become involved in their library’s reading program and to help them to keep up with their reading over the dog days of summer.”

The Westchester County local libraries who are official partners of the “WeeZee Read for Rewards” program include:

The prizes featured in the WeeZee program aim to complement each library’s summer reading program.  Participating libraries have been provided with giveaways including a colorful bouquet of whirligigs, “warm fuzzy” collectibles and four guest passes to WeeZee – The Science of Play.  Additionally, each library will be able to enter the names of their most active summer reading program participants into a raffle for a free week of WeeZee’s Sensational Summer Camp.

“Since our camp goes through the last week of August, we hope this will be a motivator for parents to get their kids active and involved!” said Weadock.

Patricia Cohn, children’s librarian at the Warner Library in Tarrytown said, “The beautiful bouquet is getting lots of attention and will be great for prizes for our guessing jars. The other giveaways are great additions for our treasure chest, and we will raffle off the passes.”
