'Day-Of' Delegation

Did you get engaged over the holidays? Yes? Congratulations!! This is a must-read for any bride-to-be an enjoy your planning, I know a GREAT Makeup Artist!

It’s a lot of work planning a wedding – when the big day finally arrives; it’s officially your day – don’t waste it with silly tasks! Your bridal party is there to help – delegate your last minute “to-do” list to them and enjoy every second, you’ve earned it!

Here are some tips for keeping the hours leading up to your wedding as stress-free as possible.

I always think it’s a good idea to turn your cell phone off the morning of your wedding. If it makes you nervous that you are going to miss something important (ie text from your soon-to-be-hubby) than have a friend keep an eye on it and only share good wishes or romantic messages from Mr. Right.

You should delegate a contact person that your vendors can contact if they are unable to reach you. This will save you from the dreaded, I’m stuck in traffic and am running late message or the “my babysitter cancelled and we can’t come to your wedding” texts.

Does your mom or future mother-in-law have a knack for giving you a bit of anxiety? Give them a really important job or two to keep them busy and out of the suite during primping. Some ideas are hosting a hospitality suite for you’re out of town guests, arranging for breakfast/lunch for the bridal party, and getting all the details (rings, shoes, invitation) ready for the photographer.

Ask your most outrageous bridesmaid to make a fun playlist with all your favorite songs and some other fun dance tunes to keep the mood light and fun. Remind her to bring her speakers!

Have your Maid-of-Honor put together an emergency kit of all the odd n’ ends you probably won’t use but will be happy to have on hand if something goes awry.
