Obituary: Donald Trotta, Mt. Kisco Firefighter & Greeley Graduate

Mount Kisco resident Donald Trotta has died at age 72 on Oct. 27, according to an obituary posted by the Sinatra Family Funeral Homes of New York.

Trotta's obituary highlights his life, accomplishments and ties to Mount Kisco and New Castle. He was born on April 25, 1941 and graduated from Horace Greeley High School. Trotta also worked at the old Mount Kisco post office and was a Mount Kisco volunteer firefighter for more than 50 years. He also served on Mount Kisco's board of fire commissioners.

"He was grateful for the unwavering support and kindness of the Fire Department's members until his last day." his obituary states.

Trotta also founded his own business,  Trotta Contracting Company, the obituary notes. He had seven siblings, with six surviving today, and is survived by two children and three grandchildren.

Mount Kisco's Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home announced that it will host a visitation on Nov. 1 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. His funeral, according to the funeral home, will be on Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Mount Kisco and he will be buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Kisco.

The fire department will accept donations that are in lieu of flowers, which can be sent to 99 E. Main St. in Mount Kisco, according to the obituary.
