Fire Damages Vista Home

Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a blaze on Wakeman Drive in Vista.

A home in Vista on four acres sustained major damage in a Thursday night blaze that began around 9:30 p.m. and was extinguished with the help of tankers from neighboring communities.

The fire was initially spotted by a neighbor driving by, according to a report from News 12. No one was home at the time and there were no injuries.

The heavy smoke and flames were brought under control by the Vista Fire Department with assistance from Goldens Bridge, South Salem, New Canaan, Ridgefield and Bedford Hills Fire Departments.

Because there were no hydrants on the wooded property, water transported by tanker was used to put out the fire, firefighters told News 12.
