Get That Stuff out of the House: Mount Kisco Holds Drug Take Back Day

National Drug Take Back Day is this weekend, and police officials in Mount Kisco urge residents to collect all the old prescription drugs, vitamins etc and bring them down to 40 Green St. for safe, anonymous disposal.

Police HQ issued this Nixle:

Prescription Take-Back Day will be held this Saturday, April 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mount Kisco Police Department. Many thanks to the Mount Kisco Partners in Prevention, a project of the Mount Kisco Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Council.

Did you know that medicines in the home are a leading cause of accidental poisoning? Just as disturbing, are the alarmingly high rates of prescription drug abuse among teens. A National study, conducted last year by The Partnership at Drugfree.org and the MetLife Foundation, found that 49% of teens who misuse or abuse prescription medicines get them from a family member or friend. More often than not, these drugs are found in our medicine cabinets.

This year’s U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) National Prescription Take-Back Day will be held this Saturday, April 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please do your part in keeping our youth stay alcohol and drug free.
