New Castle Police: Over 200 Outages Left

Police given Sunday roundup for post-Hurricane Sandy recovery, say efforts narrowing down.

(The New Castle Police Department sent out a Sunday update on post-Hurricane Sandy recovery. Since it was sent out on Sunday morning, the number of customers out has remained over 200. Con Edison's data, as of around 11:30 a.m., showed the number to be in the 200's range, but higher than the police alert. Below is a copy of the police alert):

There are 206 Con Edison customers without power in New Castle. There will be crews working at all the remaining muti-outage locations.

There are 25 restoration crews, 41 bucket trucks and 129 utility workers in New Castle today.

There are also service crews working on single homes that remain without power. If your neighborhood has been restored and your home still does not have power you need to report your outage to Con Edison by calling 1-800-75CONED or online at www.coned.com

The Recovery Center at Westchester County Center (198 Central Avenue, White Plains) is open with representatives from:

- FEMA to help individuals, households apply for financial aid for losses and damages caused by the storm
- The Small Business Administration, which will help businesses apply for low-interest loans for storm-related damages
- A variety of social services agencies to provide residents with recovery assistance.
