Police: 3 Speeding Arrests on South Bedford Road

The information below was provided by Bedford police and does not indicate a conviction.

Officers involved in speed enforcement arrested three drivers in the last week while tracking cars with radar on South Bedford Road, which is located east of Mount Kisco and heads into the village as Route 172.

All three arrests took place at about 1 a.m. and involved drivers traveling 15 to 23 miles per hour over the posted speed limit of 40 miles per hour:

  • An 18-year-old resident of Pound Ridge was charged with speeding and unlawful possession of marijuana, after police pulled him over for allegedly driving 55 mph on Jan. 8. After the traffic stop, officers noticed the smell of marijuana and recovered a small jar of it from the car. The youth was released without bail pending a future court date.
  • Adolfo Martinez, 28, of Danbury, CT, was charged with speeding, unlicensed driving and third-degree aggravated unlicensed driving after allegedly driving 63 mph on Jan. 9. Martinez did not have a driver's license and a police computer check revealed him to have two outstanding suspensions. He was released on $150 bail and is scheduled to return to town court on Jan. 24.
  • Christine Loomis, 29, of West Harrison, was charged with speeding, unlicensed driving and aggravated unlicensed operation of a car after police pulled her over for allegedly driving 55 mph on Jan. 10. She could not produce a valid license, police said, and a computer check revealed she had two prior suspensions. She was released without bail pending her next court date.
