Update, 2:40 p.m: Tuesday: Campfire Road has been reopened. An adjacent guard rail on the westbound side of the road, across from the exit, appears damaged. Police tape and orange cones are up next to the rail, which is to the left of a downward slope.
Original Post, 1:12 p.m. Tuesday:
The stretch of Campfire Road that is near the Taconic State Parkway's exit ramp, which in turn is near downtown Millwood, is being closed for two hours in order to conduct an accident investigation, according to New Castle police.
Police sent out an alert about the closure through the online Nixle service.
