New Castle Police gave an update announcement Wednesday evening, stating that one of two convicted sex offenders who had an address in New Castle is not reported to be living in town any longer. Police announced earlier that two convicted sex offenders have moved to town, residing in Chappaqua and near Millwood.
The two have Level 2 status, according to police, which means they are deemed by the state to have a "moderate risk of repeat offense."
The person is not reported to be in town is 58-year-old Kevin Desso, who previously listed by police as living on Inningwood Road near Millwood and was convicted in 2012 of one count of "Promote A Sexual Performance By A Child Less Than 17 Yrs Of Age." The state's registry lists his address as being on East Francis Drive in Montrose.
One of the two people, 40-year-old Eriq White, who lives on Chappaqua's Elm Street and was convicted in 2008 of the same charge, remains a New Castle resident.
Police also note that it is illegal to use the information about the two to harm or harass them, with criminal prosecution being the punishment.
