MTA Police: Skimmers Found at Chappaqua Train Station

Card skimmers and cameras were found at ticket vending machines at the Chappaqua Metro-North train station, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's police department.

Three devices were found during a subsequent check of Metro-North's system, police said. The railroad has a total of 277 ticket vending machines.

The discovery was announced in the same press release stating that four individuals were arrested in connection with an alleged scheme involving such devices at multiple Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) places in Nassau County and Queens.

MTA police state that thousands of numbers from credit and debit cards as evidence in connection. 

The four arrested are each Romanian nationals, police said, with one being undocumented and three having visas. 

Searching for both Metro-North and LIRR, which are both controlled by the MTA, continues, according to police.
