Whalen's Case Transferred to County Court

The criminal case of James Whalen has been transferred to a Westchester County court, according the local court clerk's office.

Whalen, who is a Mount Kisco cop, appeared in Mount Kisco's court on Thursday, according to the clerk's office.

The court handling his case is the Integrated Domestic Violence Court and is located in White Plains.

Whalen is alleged by police, on Dec. 19 at a Carpenter Avenue site, to have struck a woman in front of her 2-year-old daughter and is accused of striking another man. He is charged with third-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree attempted assault, according to police information. All of the charges are misdemeanors.

News of Whalen's arrest and charges was first reported by The Journal News and subsequently confirmed to Patch by Mount Kisco Police Lt. Patrick O'Reilly and the police department's own information.
