The man chased down by an off-duty Pleasantville police officer last week appeared in Village Court Tuesday.

Steven D. Searcy, of White Plains, was arrested in the early morning hours of August 14 after an off-duty village police officer reportedly saw him on Wheeler Avenue wearing a mask.
Searcy was apprehended after the officer identified himself as a law enforcement official. He reportedly attempted to run away before he was arrested.

Following his arrest, Searcy was arraigned on a misdemeanor Possession of Burglar's Tools charge and remanded to Westchester County Jail without bail.

Tuesday evening, he appeared in handcuffs before Village Justice John J. Curley, where he was arraigned on a new felony charge—Attempted Burglary in the Third Degree.

He remains incarcerated without bail as his court-appointed attorney noted Searcy has previously been convicted of two felonies.

Searcy's case was adjourned until September 3.
