Let’s face it: We’re all a little stir crazy right now given the endless barrage of winter storms we’ve faced so far. But before you sink deeper into your winter cocoons, consider a few day trips to historic places acres the region.
Have you been to Gracie Mansion? The New York Botanical Garden? The Parrish Museum? Have you compared the castle-like estates of Sands Point and Lyndhurst? The New York State Department if Economic Development – the I ‘Heart’ NY folks – has labeled dozens of attractions as part of its Path Through History program, hoping to drive visitors to a host of historic and cultural centers across the state.
To make choosing a day trip easier, we’ve created the above map of Path Through History spots across Suffolk, Nassau, Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, and Orange Counties, as well as New York City.
