A group of northern Westchester towns are backing an upcoming talk on the county's 2009 federal affordable housing settlement, which is currently being implemented with the construction of required housing units.
The talk, called Furthering Fair & Affordable Housing in Northern Westchester, will provide a recap of the settlement, the local response overcoming "impediments" such as environment, and looks at who would live in the housing and what it will look like.
The March 6 event is sponsored by the Blue Mountain Housing Development Corporation. It is being done with partners: the towns of Bedford, New Castle, Somers, North Salem, Lewisboro and Pound Ridge.
The Housing Action Council and Pace University's Land Use Law Center will facilitate the talk.
The discussion takes place on March 6, 7 p.m., at Bedford Town Hall in Bedford Hills.
A similar event was held last year in Bedford Hills.
